Saudi Study Reveals Significant Menstrual Disturbance Associated With mRNA Covid-19 Vaccines

Thursday, Dec 12 2024

A recent study, led by Kamaleldin B. Said, PhD, a pathologist and medical microbiologist at the University of Ha’il in Saudi Arabia, investigates the prevalence and causes of menstrual disturbances following COVID-19 vaccination in young women of reproductive age. The research team hypothesized that menstrual irregularities post-vaccination may be linked to stress and immune system responses triggered by the vaccine, alongside emotional and environmental factors. The findings are striking, showing a high incidence of menstrual disturbance, especially post mRNA COvID-19 vaccines from Pfizer or Moderna. 59% of the participants reported a menstrual disturbance post the second COVID-19 vaccine dose.[1]

Key Findings

  • First considering the prevalence of menstrual disturbances, approximately 47.2% of participants reported menstrual irregularities post-vaccination, with issues more common after the second vaccine dose (59%).

  • Irregular cycle timing was the most frequently reported issue, with some women also experiencing increased or decreased blood volume, missed periods, or severe pain.

  • Delving into the demographics, the majority of participants (61%) were aged 19–29, single (70%), and had no chronic health conditions (85%). Emotional stress and anxiety related to the pandemic were significant factors, reported by 51% of participants as contributing to menstrual issues.

  • Importantly, in regard to COVID-19 vaccine types and doses, Pfizer and Moderna mRNA vaccines were most associated with menstrual disturbances. Moreover, receiving two doses of the vaccine increased the likelihood of menstrual irregularities.

  • Other factors were analyzed such as emotional and environmental elements. Mental health issues, including fear and stress related to the pandemic, emerged as major contributors to menstrual irregularities.

  • When looking at predictors of menstrual disturbances a higher education levels (postgraduate) and employment were associated with increased risk of menstrual changes interestingly. ,Emotional factors and vaccine type (Pfizer in particular) were also significant predictors.

Note: This is a preliminary study, observational in nature, which in its research methodology does not establish causation, however there are many other evidences, from signals in the clinical trials themselves, from reporting systems in various countries such as VAERS, and likewise from other research papers, which collectively establish a clear link between Covid mRNA injections and menstrual irregularities. It is also the view of some highly qualified professionals, such as Michael Yeadon, a former chief scientist for Pfizer, that these injections have been designed to impact fertility.
