This work was written and published at the end of the 19th century, in 1896. This was well before the ideological attack against Islām and Muslims took shape in the latter half of the 20th century.

As for the observance of animality and the fulfillment of lust, it is the observance of the ignorant, who are no different to all animals except in the uprightness of their stature and the speech of their tongues.
