Shaykh Nizār bin Hāshim is one of numerous shaykhs who has exposed and refuted the errors, lies and mischief of ʿArafāt al-Muḥammadī and those behind him and with him in affairs connected to tbe foundations of the Sunnah such as rulership, rebellion, sedition, jihād, and treatment of Ahl al-Sunnah and Ahl al-Bidʿah. Being unable to respond to the evidences presented that they indeed fell into oppositions (such as complicity with the aḥzāb in matters of rebellion, sedition, and opposition to senior scholars in matters of war and bloodshed and treachery in dealings with them), they have played games of evasion and tried to find ways to discredit Shaykh Nizār from the point of view of scholarly credibility, and this is typical behaviour which is to be expected from dishonest and bankrupt people.
Just imagine: A man from the people of knowledge was concerned for his country in the midst of war and bloodshed (in which thousands were killed daily and millions displaced), proceeded upon the authority of his ruler in the fight against Khārijites, rebels and mercenaries and simply asked for the correct Sharīʿah ruling in the matter to be announced and respected (after it was undermined), in veneration of life and protection of the nation, and you stand there and decide to trawl through his speech and writings to find errors and slips, in order to mock and ridicule him, after lying upon him, twisting his words, and attacking him for perfectly valid views. This shows a tremendous type of wickedness and evil which simply cannot be ignored.
Given that Shaykh Nizār stood out of veneration for the Sunnah and the sanctity of life, and the unity and security of a Muslim nation, then he is worthy of support and defence, for when the likes of ʿArafāt do not shy from praising and shielding Hadḍādī innovators like Hishām al-Beylī, then Salafīs should not shy away from speaking a word of truth and justice in relation to Salafī shaykhs who are subject to defamation and oppression, merely for venerating the foundations of the Sunnah in relation to conflicts affecting their nations, and in which the truth is evidently on their side.
This way followed by ʿArafāt and his zealots is the same way traversed by Abū al-Ḥasan al-Miṣrī al-Maʾribī and Fāliḥ al-Ḥarbī, which is to trawl throught the cassettes of the one who exposed your deviation to look for faults and to twist and take words and sentences out of context. There are some relevant quotes from Shaykh Rabīʿ bin Hādī regarding this treacherous conduct, which al-Maʾribī took towards him after he had been thoroughly exposed, and indicates the most lowly of characters.
Shaykh Rabīʿ bin Hādī (رحمه الله) said:[1]
Due to his misguidance, stupidity, ignorance and indifference to such shameful behaviours, he boasts about this book and praises his own futile, treacherous efforts. He proudfully boasts about scrutinising my audios which call to the truth and thoroughly refute the people of falsehood and misguidance. He treacherously extracts certain sentences from their contexts and sequence, those that indicate that I am upon the truth which I call to and that refute the falsehood opposed to truth. This represents the utmost heights of lowliness, wickedness and religious and moral depravity.
He (رحمه الله) also said:[2]
I speak according to my knowledge and if I realise that I have made an error or errors in methodology or otherwise, I would retract from them readily, and I do not have obstinacy and persistence upon falsehood as is the state of Abū al-Ḥasan, his ḥizb (party), and their ilk from the people of desires who obstinately and arrogantly deny truths as clear as the sun. Yet you, O Abū al-Fitan are from the staunchest people of falsehood. Will you admit to your misguidance in methodology and other affairs as well as your defence of various proponents of misguidance and your endorsements for them?
This is the very state and condition of ʿArafāt and his zealots, and this is why this fitnah has combined various elements of previous fitan all in one package aimed at destroying and replacing the daʿwah of truth and clarity with a daʿwah comprising exaggeration (ghuluww), oppression (ḍhulm) and corruption not disconnected from worldly goals and ambitions.
We must understand the meta-thinking of the cunning fox that is taking place here and state it clearly:
“You caught me being complicit in sedition and civil strife, and I’ve been exposed a liar through many reliable witnesses across different issues, I've been exposed for conspiring to lie to Shaykh Rabīʿ in matters of bloodshed and I’ve allied with deviants against Salafīs, so I need to maintain total silence on these things while diverting the attention to somewhere else. So let me point out the errors of my critic(s) (whether fabricated, twisted or actual) to make them appear fundamentally misguided and dishonest, and embroil everybody in these side-issues, then I won’t have to answer for my deviations, and just slip away in silence.”
Below are some of the issues that have been raised and some related resources, while noting that this crime is not isolated but a repeat pattern of declaring Salafīs astray and defaming them on trumped up charges based on lies, distortions and fabrications. See the example in relation to myself and also Dānā ʿAbd Allāh.
01 Regarding the Name al-Shāfī. ʿArafāt lied upon Shaykh Nizār and misrepresented his speech regarding the name “al-Shāfī” which some scholars included among the ninety-nine names and others did not, and in the process he exposed his own ignorance in this subject matter.
Summary: ʿArafāt tried to defame and belittle Shaykh Nizār but got exposed himself for his ignorance in this subject matter. He should fix his own blunders first before throwing stones from his glass house. He did this just to conceal his complicity in sedition, treachery to Shaykh Rabīʿ in matters of bloodshed, and allying with Ḥaddādīs over Salafīs.
02 Regarding the Translated Qurʾān. ʿArafāt’s followers twisted some speech of Shaykh Nizār to make it appear he claims that the translated Qurʾān is the actual speech of Allāh. However, his speech is about giving an accurate, sound translation of the Qurʾān to a non-Muslim so that he can read Allāh’s Book and His Words (i.e. in translated format) with its correct meanings and accept Islām. Overwhelmingly, these Qurʾān translations contain the Arabic text of the Qurʾān in them as well, and hence, it is not out of place to say that they are reading the Qurʾān (in translation), and this is what Shaykh Nizār means. This is a very desperate and cheap attempt and does not require refutation and does not constitute anything but wanton oppression founded upon exaggeration (ghuluww) and intellectual terrorism.
Summary: The words of Shaykh Rabīʿ to al-Maʾribī: “This represents the utmost heights of lowliness, wickedness and religious and moral depravity.” He did this just to conceal his complicity in sedition, treachery to Shaykh Rabīʿ in matters of bloodshed, and allying with Ḥaddādīs over Salafīs.
03 Regarding the Shape of the Earth. ʿArafāt al-Muḥammadī produced a document (22 August 2026) attacking Shaykh Nizār for saying that the view of the earth being a sphere is incorrect and comes from the enemies who have altered the reality Allāh created, meaning, they described it upon other than what it is. Many scholars have held the earth to be flat based on verses of the Qurʾān and it is the view of some of the scholars that the sphericity of the earth came from the astrologers and astronomers, as was said by al-Qaḥtānī in his Nūniyyah.
This is not really an issue to attack someone for and to declare him ignorant and misguided.[3]
Summary: The saying of Shaykh Rabīʿ:
And when the reader returns back to the books of the most eminent of the exegetes (mufassirīn), he will not find therein that the earth is spherical. So does this now diminish from their status and turn them into [uneducated] bedouins and primitives? Never, and never again.
`Arafāt is refuting Shaykh Nizār on the issue of the shape of the earth after he has been exposed as a liar, and after his complicity in rebellion and sedition has been established. Likewise, his conspiring to lie to Shaykh Rabīʿ to extract a fatwā in matters of war and bloodshed, and also his praise and alliance with Ḥaddādī innovators who attack senior Salafīs. He met all of this with silence because it was established against him with concrete evidences and then decided to raise the issue of the shape of the earth! A bankrupt individual. May Allah guide him and his zealots to their senses.
04 Regarding health, nutrition, medicine and worldly sciences. Shaykh Nizār, keeping up with matters of health and medicine, spoke about some health systems that have been popular in the Middle East, focused on holistic, naturopathic principles. He has clarified that these matters along with other worldly sciences, especially if they come from non-Muslims, should be subject to critical evaluation in protection of beneficial interests in both the religion and the world.
05 Regarding the Name of Allāh, al-Rafīq. ʿArafāt al-Muḥammadī lied upon Shaykh Nizār claiming that he does not affirm the name, “al-Rafīq” for Allāh (عز وجل), despite the fact that the words he cited indicate that he does. This is the type of refutation (i.e. lies and slander) that ʿArafāt is teaching as acceptable to his fanatics, many of whom are graduates, so that they in turn unleash the same methods and approaches upon others. This indicates the tremendous danger of this fitnah.
06 Regarding the Ḥadīth Qudsī: “Whoever shows enmity to a (righteous) friend of mine, I have declared war on him.” ʿArafāt al-Muḥammadī clipped some speech of Ibn Rajab al-Ḥanbalī to make it look like Shaykh Nizār is giving explanations to ḥadīths from himself and tries to use this to say that he cannot be trusted in knowledge. The explanation given by Shaykh Nizār is found in the speech of Ibn Rajab himself and other scholars.
07 On the Authorship of “al-Waqafāt” ʿArafāt al-Muḥammadī claimed that the advice written by Shaykh Nizār bin Hāshim and sent to Muḥammad bin Hādī in late 2017 was not authored by him, but by someone else for him. So Shaykh Nizār asked ʿArafāt to prove his claim after he started openly saying this, and after eight or so months he did not so. In this article, one of Shaykh Nizār’s students demolishes the lie of ʿArafāt, and this is added to his many other lies against Ahl al-Sunnah.
08 Regarding Speech About a Ruler Who Transgresses Against a Muslim Nation Though Shaykh Nizār clarified this matter early on in the fitnah, this is a doubt which continues to be used, and here we reveal the hypocrisy and double-standards at play.
