Background

The Swine Flu Scam of 2009 was a huge scandal in Europe. It followed soon after the failed Bird Flu Scam of 2005. The WHO was used as a vehicle to fearmonger populations in order to sell vaccines. The vaccines soon caused deaths, left many with a neurological illness (Guillain-Barré syndrome) and had to be withdrawn. Court cases led to millions in payouts and governments were left with millions of unused vaccines that had to be destroyed.

The scam was exposed within a year. The reason it fell apart so quick is because there was no censorship and information was not heavily controlled and manipulated.

Soon after, the Malthusian, Bill Gates, declared that that decade (starting 2011) will be “The Decade of Vaccines”, meaning, furtherance of Malthusian agendas of reducing population growth, while making billions in the process. In between that time, the money power, which owns big pharma, embarked on strengthening and solidifying the “pandemic machinery” which allows these types of scams to be pulled off through pseudoscientific theories of disease.

Since that time, the machinery has become extremely sophisticated through the merger of big tech with big pharma and big media, all owned by the same stakeholders.

Conflict Between a Scholar Protecting Creed, Health and Wealth and a Doctor Influenced by Speculative Materialist Theories

Below is an article that was published in October 2009 in Arabic news outlets and found its way into English on Alarabiya.Net. Some relevant commentary is provided after it.

01  Safety in The Prophetic Guidance Regarding Contagion

In the view of the negation of contagion, the understanding is that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) negated the concept altogether, and negated that people “transmit” their states of illness to others, and affirmed that each and every instance of disease is a fresh creation of that state through the sum of its causes and event-chains. That invoking the notion of “contagion” and “transmission” to explain the apparent spread of disease is from the ways of Jāhiliyyah, because that is not what happens in physical reality. It is a fresh creation of the state, not “transmission”, as disease states remain properties of bodies and are never transmitted (see similitude).

To this end, the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) gave guidance to his ummah to avoid scenarios and situations where a person might be prone to start believing in this notion due to observational and intellectual errors. This guidance constitutes an allowance for weak people to avoid unnecessary mental struggle, fear and anxiety from being in the proximity of sick people. This is something which in itself can cause disease (psychogenic illness), and is an established reality. Likewise, to prevent belief in contagion from arising through the error of confusing coincidence with causation. Also, this guidance is to prevent people from finding fault with Qadar, should they be afflicted with illness, and start saying “If only I had done this” and “If only I hadn’t done that”.

Thus, scholars like Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Luḥaydān who hold this view are generally suspicious and dismissive of the claims of the Disbelievers, and this position is justified and warranted.

02  Fruits of Belief in Tawḥīd and Qadar

What is in the article above regarding Shaykh al-Luḥaydān and the doctor is simply a glimpse into an issue that is old and recurring, something which has happened in history and is certainly not new.

In the description of the great plague of 749H, Ibn Ḥajar (رحمه الله) cites from Shaykh Zayn al-Dīn ʿUmar bin Muẓaffar Ibn al-Wardī, from his tract called “al-Nabaʾ ʿan il-Wabāʾ.”^[1]

In this tract Ibn al-Wardī describes the tremendous death and destruction brought by this plague.^[2] He then says:

Then he says in poetic verse, speaking about the People of Disbelief:

And then he continues:

So one can see that despite the plague ravaging the regions of Shām and Miṣr, and despite it killing not just men, women and children, but also birds, cats, dogs, gazelles and all types of wild animals, there is no inclination to belief in contagion in the speech of this shaykh and others like him in that era. They stood against the taunts and insults of the Disbelievers against the Muslims who were afflicted, and he replied to them by enunciating the negation of contagion, in the midst of a ravaging plague.

So when that is the case, what can be said about the one who fears the flu or the common cold, treating them as if they are like the deadly plague? Where are the fruits of Īmān, and the fruits arising from the affirmation of Tawḥid and Qadar? We praise and thank Allāh for scholars who encourage hope and reliance and discourage unnecessary fear, from them Shaykh al-Luḥaydān and likewise, Shaykh al-Fawzān, who advised people against weakness.

Further, since, when have such scholars been accused of following the way of ʿAmr bin ʿUbayd al-Muʿtazilī, simply for reminding people about an important affair of Tawḥīd, and inculcating strength, hope and reliance in the hearts of the Muslims, to fortify them against the fearmongering of the Disbelievers?

03  The Contagionist View

As for those who affirm contagion, then they have the angle of “taking the means”, considering this to be a part of reliance. This is a valid view, and relates to the sick, when precaution is from what is apparent and tangible.

However, contagion has never been proven conclusively, and has always been assumed for the well-known diseases, including respiratory illnesses such as flus and colds. It was disproven in the late 19th and early 20th century wherein extensive experiments to try and “transmit” these illnesses failed miserably or remained dubious and inconclusive at best.

Given these facts, those who affirm contagion may be prone to falling into the same observational errors for which the bedouin was corrected by the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) in the matter of camels and scabies. This is how the notion of contagion itself first arose, wherein a simplistic and superstitious notion of transmission from an initially sick person or animal provided an apparent explanation for why a group of people or animals at the same location and time fall ill.

In this view—even though it is held by many—there is scope for numerous errors. From them is believing a disease to be contagious when it actually isn’t. This is what happened with diseases like scurvy, pellagra and beri beri. They were blamed on germs and microbes, when in reality, they were due to chronic deficiencies in vital nutrients, due to particular diets or circumstances.

Also from the potential errors, is treating things to be from the means, when they are not from the means, and exaggerating in such means. For this and other reasons, the negators of contagion are in a safer position both in terms of the perfection of Tawḥīd, as per the ḥadīth of ʿUkkāshah and the 70,000, and in terms of health, as they will not subject themselves to unnecessary injections. Except of course where they are bound by regulations and are deprived of choice.

04  Doubting Materialist Pseudoscience is Justified and Warranted

Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Luḥaydān (رحمه الله) cast doubt about the “Swine Flu” and the alleged virus, and he was totally correct in that. Though people may have fallen ill and died, a “Swine flu virus” is not needed to explain that.

He also cast doubt about the alleged coronavirus for the very same reasons. To avoid a lengthy diversion, we advise the reader to study our series on Darwinian Virology and especially the Introduction wherein this speculative, pseudoscience, rather, fraud, that is known as “virology” is dismantled. A quote from the document (p. 13):

This does not mean denial of deaths, illnesses, occurrences of epidemics and seasonal illnesses.

It just means that the fictional virus concept that was invented by the germ theorists to save their flawed theory—after they had misunderstood and misinterpreted the workings of biology in states of health and illness—is not needed to explain illness and its causes. It is a superfluous, ideological layer which has been funded and promoted for commercial objectives. There are many causes which can help explain seasonal illnesses and epidemics.

Pseudoscientific theories can have an implication upon Tawḥīd and its perfection, because people are simply fearing fictional entities that exist only on computer as made-up nucleic acid sequences. They have no physical reality, and the techniques used to prove them are fraudulent in nature, involving sleight of hand laboratory tricks, and sleight of tongue definitions.

05  Reliance upon Non-Muslims and Its Effects

Dr. Khālid Abdul-Ghaffar, mentioned in the news article, is presented as a counter to the religious scholar and his claim is cited that the virus has been “scientifically proven”, though this is not true. Many doctors repeat this, but without knowing otherwise, and have simply taken this claim on trust.

Abū al-Muḍhaffar al-Surramarriyy al-Ḥanbalī (d. 772H), wrote in his book, Shifāʾ al-Ālām:^[5]

This is what Muslim scholars of the past have said, about the Muslims relying upon Ahl al-Kitāb in the field of medicine. However, today it can be considered worse, because we also have the Materialists, Atheists, Malthusians, Eugenicists and others, all of whom dominate the field of medicine, and infuse their ideas into it. This can brings harm to creed, above and beyond what can come from Ahl al-Kitāb, of physical harm to health.

These terms “Swine flu”, “Bat flu”, “Bird flu”, “Camel flu”, “Ferret flu”, “Cat flu” etc., the intent behind them is to convey the idea that there is inherent danger in what Allāh created. Mankind is in constant threat of “spillover” events where Darwinian viruses mutate, jump to man, and mutate again, become more dangerous, and evolve further. This is a narrative by which its spokesmen seek to maintain constant alarm and fear.

In reality, these illnesses are caused by environmental factors, bad living conditions, which tends to happen in industrial farming. These factors interact with individual-level factors in each entity, leading to disease, which is in reality, the body’s curative and restorative response to the conditions.

So when the conditions improve, the disease will recede and if the conditions continue, the disease state will remain. Its very simple. We do not need to invoke any imaginary “viruses” to explain what is going on. The samples taken from sick individuals, contain nothing but cell debris, genetic fragments, proteins and microvesicles, and they are the result of the body’s detoxification and repair mechanisms, not the cause.

All humans, animals and plants that are living have been given in-built, pre-progammed, healing, detoxification and repair mechanisms that are initiated by certain conditions, factors, causes, event-chains and triggers that can be seasonal in nature and which are brought together from Allāh’s decree for whomever illness has been decreed at the appointed time and place.

Within these processes, the body expels dead cells, tissues and linings, while regenerating new ones behind the scenes. The various symptoms we observe are simply a manifestation of the healing and regeneration process. The burden of such processes is light for healthy people.

However those who are elderly and sick with other illnesses may not be able to handle this short bout of internal repair and may pass away as a result. However, the Materialists have reversed these realities, which are indicative of Allāh’s creative power and His mercy. They prove that He is indeed The Healer (al-Shāfī) in truth.

This is the habit of the People of Disbelief, in their misguidance and blindness, they reverse the realities, and turn effects into causes. Thus, they say:

• It is not the Sun that is in motion, providing the phenomenon of night and day, but the Earth that is in motion.
• It is not Allāh who created the creation, the creation being an effect of His action, but nature, it created itself, as the effect of itself.
• It is not that carbon dioxide is an effect of warming, rather, carbon dioxide is its cause, so we should restrict human socioeconomic activity.
• It is not Allāh that placed inherent healing mechanisms in the body that manifest as “disease” states (as a merciful recompense for sins and violations in diet, habits and lifestyle). Rather, these “disease” states —which actually precede these mechanisms and give rise to them—are instead, caused by opportunistic, ever-presente, all-pervasive “mutating viruses”, such that one handshake or one sneeze will destroy an entire nation. So just be scared and act as if you are carrying them as a walking, talking, breathing contagion!

So this is the way of the People of Disbelief, they reverse realities, change effects into causes, and infuse their misguidance into their understanding of the world, in their materialist sciences, wherein the world is stripped of having a Creator, and their theorisation and understanding of how creation functions does not incorporate the meanings of Allāh’s Names and Attributes.

06  Expanding Markets Through Fearmongering

According to the poll in the article, around 50% of the people refused vaccination. Another 20% were cautious and hesitant. Of the remaining 30%, around half said they would only take it, if forced, and the rest believed it was necessary.

However, with fearmongering and propaganda, that percentage of willing vaccine takers has likely increased from 1 in 6 people to whatever it is now.

An entire pandemic machinery, very sophisticated and well-greased, has taken shape during recent decades, building upon the foundations laid in the early 20th century, and this is what we are witnessing these days, and will continue to witness, so long as people remain unwilling to wake up to these realities, which Allāh, from His mercy, placed on the tongues of scholars, past and present.

Coming back to all of these flus (Swine, Cat, Bird etc.), these people are trying to propagate the idea that what Allāh created of nature and biological life is inherently flawed and dangerous and that we need benevolent elites, to take control over it, for our benefit of course. So it's best if they just take ownership of everything. Thus, to achieve that end, they should tightly regulate farming, agriculture, transport, trade and so on, until they take over every part of people’s lives. In fact, until their most basic necessities, enabling them to breathe and live, are in the hands of these people.

These doctrines, theories and pseudosciences, such as Darwinian viruses and the fraud of virology, and carbon dioxide induced global warming (i.e man breathing) are all lies concocted by think tanks many decades ago to serve sociopolitical and economic agendas. This is the modern implementation of Marxist Communism, but this time with the full force, power and pervasiveness of intrusive technology. This is primarily targeted in Western nations which run on social democracy.

This system of rule, the “Social Democracy”, allows for this type of subversion, and in fact, was designed and implemented for this very purpose. Democracy is simply a vehicle towards Collectivism and Communism. It allows the illusion of power being with the people to conceal the hidden power transfer beneath, which slowly, and over time, results in a takeover by Capitalists, who then impose their preferred method of rule, which is Communism and Collectivism.

This is why you are now seeing in the so-called “free and liberal” democratic Western states, such as Canada, Australia and European nations, a Communist type of tyranny emerging. It’s the natural, intended and inevitable outcome of “Social Democracy”. This transition is justified and implemented through the use of false ideologies and pseudoscience, such as global warming, climate change, “carbon dioxide pollution”, and Darwinian viruses ravaging the earth with contagion. These are all merged to help shape the modern biosecurity state.

While we can bear the physical hardships that may come with all of this, we can’t live with our beliefs and thoughts being corrupted in a subtle, insidious manner through false ideas.

07  Revelation Versus Reason

The way of the Muʿtazilah, the likes of ʿAmr bin ʿUbayd al-Muʿtazilī, was to revile and attack the Scholars of Tawḥīd and Sunnah, and to portray them as being backward and ignorant, because they believed wholeheartedly in the speech of the Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم), and which they, the Muʿtazilah, considered to clash with reason, and in a more modern sense, with worldly sciences.

This is aptly represented in the news story above, where the article seems to portray Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Luḥaydān (رحمه الله) as the backward scholar of parchments, in denial of science, and the Dr. as the illuminated, educated one, when in fact, the reality is the other way around.

One speaks, from the lamp and foundation of revelation, of Tawḥīd, through which he pierces through the lie, and the other one speaks from the crass pseudosciences of the Disbelievers, unaware that perhaps his pronouncements represent claims that are not based on the methods and processes of genuine scientific inquiry, and are without evidence.

It is feared that such people may take the way of ʿAmr bin ʿUbayd al-Muʿtazilī towards the Shaykh and those like him, upon whose tongue Allāh placed the verifiable, observed truth.

Note: Natural fear (khawf ṭabīʿiyy) is defined as fear from apparent danger, meaning danger that is tangible and real. For example, you fear a lion, or a man with a weapon, or a collapsing building, or blazing fire, or, in the matter of contagion, for those who affirm it, a visibly sick person, or a particular location with a concentration of sick people. So you fear and avoid these things.

As for thing which are obscure, baseless and unwarranted (such as fictional entities), then the fear concerning them is no longer natural, expected, warranted fear, but presumption and delusion (wahm) and enters a person into cowardice (jubn), whisperings (waswasah) and harbouring omens (taṭayyur) and imitation of the disbelievers. 08  The Danger of Accusing People Falsely

Just as in 2009, I wrote an article on this subject (contagion views, viruses, vaccines), while Shaykh al-Luḥaydān (رحمه الله) cast doubt on the “Swine Flu Virus”, I published the same article again in February 2020, and the Shaykh cast doubt about the “Coronavirus” as well, and all praise is due to Allāh.

Simply for calling for actualisation (taḥqīq) of Tawḥīd in this matter, and preventing unwarranted fear and anxiety from taking root in the hearts of people, I and others were accused of opposing the scholars and reviling them and belittling them, and taking the way of ʿAmr bin ʿUbayd al-Muʿtazilī towards them. A few months ago in February 2025, in a European country, a student gave a lecture in which he directed this accusation at me and those from the doctors and pharmacists who were engaged in this path of promoting reliance upon Allāh.

Yet we were following legitimate views, and had every right to educate Muslims regarding them, to aid them against the intensive, incessant fearmongering and propaganda which harmed many people, emotionally and physically, and to help them actualise pure reliance and implement the ḥadīth of Ukkāshah and the 70,000.

In reality, the matter could actually be the other way around, that we have a greater right and justification to throw this at the accusers.

Let's explore this:

We could say that if we wanted, and it would not be out of place.

We said to them that social distancing is a fabrication of the Disbelievers and to not believe in it as a means. Nevertheless, we advised with obeying the authorities to preserve order and out of respect for their ijtihād. This was to protect the Muslims from believing in falsehoods.^[6]

We told them to not attribute this (i.e. the institution of social distancing) to the Major Scholars as they did not derive it. They simply asked us, from the angle of the Sunnah, to obey the authorities, who implemented this and other controversial measures due to treaties and international cooperation. Instead, they wouldn’t have it and claimed we were reviling the scholars

To this day, even after the Disbelievers have openly admitted that it (i.e. social distancing) was totally made-up and was only aimed at propagating fear and anxiety to sell the vaccines, they still won’t believe us. And they claim that we are taking our knowledge from the disbelievers. What irony!

We said facemasks are useless and talismanic in nature, which in fact was said by the Disbelievers themselves. Yet, we advised with wearing them if required by the authorities and not out of belief in these things, but to maintain order. We said that if masks are worn upon such an understanding and approach, there is no blame or fault upon you. However, they still said, “You are accusing us of shirk.”

They still won’t believe us, nor will they accept the Saudi Ḥajj studies that prove masks are useless and of no effect, and nor the dozens of statements from the Disbelievers themselves, some in the most prestigious medical journals, that masks are talismanic in nature and purpose. That they serve to relieve fear and anxiety and provide psychological comfort and group solidarity against the evil, all-pervasive virus, which is in reality, wholly fictional and imaginary, existing only in computer software programs.

We told them that Shaykh Muqbil, who negates contagion, explained that it is unlawful to take vaccines to prevent contagion, and that they can only be taken for prevention of disease at an individual level, as a preventive, because the Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) negated contagion.

Thus, if a person decided not to take it, out of obedience to Allāh’s Messsenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم), upon this conviction, and with the knowledge that it causes death and injury, then he cannot be declared sinful. However, they said, “You are reviling scholars and declaring them ignorant and backward, because they took it!”

So we can speak like this and we have a greater right and justification to do so as the factual realities are on the side of scholars such as Shaykh al-Luḥaydān (رحمه الله) and Shaykh Muqbil (رحمه الله), and we can say, with strong justification, that we are defending these scholars and that we do not accept revilement of these Major Scholars.

This is a totally legitimate position and sound line of reasoning. However, given that these are issues of religious and worldly differing, we cannot declare anyone misguided in religion for holding and acting upon a legitimate, acceptable view.

May Allāh grant us all success in arriving at what He loves and is pleased with

Closing Remark

Since Muslims have been reliant upon the non-Muslims in worldly sciences, especially in the modern era, there are certain challenges that are inevitably brought by this. This is not a new phenomenon. It has happened in history as well through the merger of different cultures and civilizations, and the import of foreign sciences inclusive of medicine. These are just affairs from Allāh’s decrees and is the outcome of interactions between empires and civilizations.

In the midst of all of this, by Allāh’s grace and mercy, there are scholars that we can turn to, past and contemporary, for discovery of truth and guidance. From them are Shaykh al-Albānī, Shaykh Bin Bāz, Shaykh Ibn ʿUthaymīn, Shaykh Muqbil, Shaykh ʿAbd al-Muḥsin, Shaykh Rabīʿ bin Hādī, Shaykh ʿUbayd al-Jābirī and Shaykh al-Luḥaydān. It is not the case that every scholar will be granted tawfīq in speaking every truth in every matter, but we know that Allāh places different truths on the tongues of different scholars, and we take these truths from them. In this way, we have a good approximation of the truth and are closest to the right guidance. And our speech would be free from as much error as possible, when we take truths from all the scholars.

So there you have it, and that’s where we are in the 21st century in this arena.

Note: These are challenging and difficult times, and such times have occurred throughout Islāmic history. In order to navigate them properly, we have to stick to the Sunnah and to the Major Scholars in their generality, and in particular, those who have specific knowledge and insight in these issues, and in whose speech there is truth and guidance. Further, legitimate differences should be accommodated and not be misused to falsely accuse others of things they are free of. May Allāh grant us success.
